Version 2.23

- New option for creating anapglyph (3D) view;
- Fixed a propblem with automatic water body detection at high resolution (15 m).

Version 2.22

This upgrade provides significant enhancements to quality and speed of Aster DTM extraction. Below a summary of the most important changes:

- improved DTM extraction pyramid for enhanced stability, less outliers and improved DTM resolution (< 10 m STD90);
- significant speed enhancements, specially for high resolution (15 m ) mode;
- much improved memory usage, specially for mosaic mode;
- full external DEM support for batch mode.

Version 2.2

  • new batch file setup window ("File->Batch File Setup"):
This new facility provides a graphical interface for setting up the batch processing of
any number of ASTER 1A and 1B images. ASTER images can be imported individually,
or directories or even entire logical drives can be browsed for valid images, and
processed according to a set of interactively defined parameters. Other than the already
existing ASTERDTM_DOIT batch routine, the interactive batch setup does not need a
valid IDL license and works within ENVI (RT) as well as within ENVI+IDL.

  • new mosaic setup window ("File->Mosaic Setup"):

    This new option enables mosaicing of Aster 1A and 1B images, through an easy-to-use
    graphical interface. Browse for valid Aster images, interactively define the desired
    processing options, and produce seemless mosaics with a few mouse clicks.

  • implementation of the ASTER lat/lon correction table:
    In the Aster User's Guide Part II (ver 4), ERSDAC published a set of polinomial
    coefficients to improve the geolocation accuracy for level-1 products prior to
    geometric DB version 2.2; this correction is now being applied automatically
    (daytime products only).

Version 2.09

  • 1A->1B conversion (SWIR):

    Improved algorithm for choosing internal control points.
    Band 4 matched to band 3N, all other SWIR bands are now
    matched to the geocorrected band 4.

    In case the number of found valid internal matching points is less
    then expected, an output result is still produced and a warning is
    issued (before the process would be aborted instead).

    Fixed a bug which would inhibit saving the result to file.

  • 1A->1B conversion (TIR):

    Same enhancements as for SWIR for geocorrection through image matching.

    Additional alternative option for using the ephemeris data to geocorrect TIR bands.

  • General enhancements:
  • Greatly reduced DEM striping/banding (actually a kind of aliasing effect) which
    would eventually occur for very flat terrain in 1A images.

    Fixed a bug which eventually would cause AsterDTM to crash when using an
    external DEM.
